A New Trick
Everyday is something new. Aunt Wendy got us this great toy for Christmas that can be a flat busy box type toy, or stand up push toy. When we got home I had it in the flat position, but Ellie didn't show much interest (go figure because she finds the bathroom scale fascinating!). Anyway, she really enjoyed playing with it in the stand-up position with it backed up to the couch or a chair. When I had tried putting her behind the toy to push it, she looked at me like I was stupid and promptly reach over and played with the toys on the front. But now that she's the ripe old age of 7 months I thought I'd give it another try. She doesn't quite have the coordination just yet, but she seems to be getting the idea of what the possibilities are. And although it doesn't count as the first step until it's all on her own, this just so happens to be her first step without a person helping her.
